We start by heading southwest until we reach the Corinth Canal, which connects the Aegean with the Ionian Sea. We then tour the Ancient City of Corinth, where the Apostle Paul lived and preached for two years.<\/p>

In this ancient city we can visit the Agora and the temple of Apollo (6th century BC), which clearly show the significance of Corinth in ancient times. Afterwards we continue by road towards Epidaurus and the site of the ancient theatre of Epidaurus.<\/p>

The view, aesthetics and acoustics of the theatre are breathtaking, as well as the feeling one gets sitting on the ancient stone seats.<\/p>

After Epidaurus we head towards the monument of Asclepius, which is a deeply spiritual place well worth taking the time to visit.<\/p>

We then drive on to visit Nafplio, a city with a rich history and many local dishes, old churches, historic squares and neoclassical buildings.<\/p>

The Palamidi and castle of Akronafplia stand on a hill overlooking the coastal town below, where we will stop for a meal in one of the traditional taverns.

Our next stop is Mycenae where we will visit the Royal Palace and the tomb of Agamemnon. The ruins of the ancient city lie above the new town of Mycenae. The Acropolis stands on the summit of an imposing mountain, surrounded by other tall mountains that formed formidable line of defense for the region, as well as offering fine views.<\/p>

We head by road towards the fertile plains of Boeotia, passing through the towns of Thebes, Livadia and Arachova.<\/p>

At Delphi we will visit the Treasury of the Athenians, the Temple of Apollo and the Museum, which contains masterpieces of ancient Greek sculpture. On the return trip we stop at Arachova, one of the prettiest villages in Greece, famous for its hand-woven carpets. There we can eat in one of the traditional taverns. After Arachova, we have the opportunity to visit the beautiful Byzantine Monastery of St Luke.<\/p>
